Damn - song titles, artists and lyrics! Anything by the Eagles with a bit of ELO, BTO, Boston, Aerosmith, Steve Miller thrown in. Too many titles to mention here. I do recall the 8track had a habit of "eating" tapes (obviously before the hi-tech advent of cassettes...). Good times had by all. Many may recall the weekend "social" events.
BTW - was going thru boxes, found several "senior banquet" tix I obviously didn't "sell" - and for JP - even found a Cowboy Jerry Club card signed by the "head honcho" himself. Find the oddest things in old storage boxes... See everyone in a few....

Back on cyberspace........puter keeps puking out. Reminds me of alot ... I'm jealous! I got my first car when I was 21! But, poor Dad always let me use the company cars and the coke van and they all got USED! Then there was always Steve who would loan me anything...especially fun was the Trans Am that would fly over the girl school road with Aerosmith blaring and who remembers being with me-Dead brain cells? I'm going to have to check out that website Jerry-I just write down the songs while I am driving with my sirius... I still have my albums and some 8 tracks-WOW what a hoarder. I always feel like I missed out so much hanging with my older sib's friends... I love this sight! Thanks Kathi. Mary-remember streaking through the empty fields around the neighborhood? I mean when the neighborhood wasn't all houses.... AHHHH those were the days.

Hi Ronny,

I definately remember the Javelin and the brown Ford sedan before that!!!! I think every 8-track player came complete with the book of matches to wedge under the tape to try and make it play right. I remember listening to Fleetwood Mac pretty much endlessly, and Thin Lizzy " Jail Break". We used to go to your brothers apartment and listen to ELO because he had the great stereo with the "reel to reel" tape player!!!! Can't wait to see you and catch up on all the stuff over the last 30 years. TTYL

Hi Don:

We listened to those 8 tracks, especially Fleetwoodmac, James Talyor, Aerosmith (toys in the attic) and Thin Lizzy so much because we were to freaking poor or tight to buy new ones. haha!!! New ones were "borrowed" from my brother, what he didn't know couldn't hurt me. Hey do you remember Ken Sickles yellow 67 bronco damn that thing could climb a freaking tree but could not go over 50mph I loved that Bronco. His great dog King always in the front seat. I still remember that kitty of yours too Alowishhomerwodcerhouski sorry for the spelling...what memories. That cat hated Ken. haha and Ken was afraid of him. lol
Saw your web page your doing some really amazing work. Looking forward to a long chat.

Ron

Hey Ronny,

I remember Kennys Bronco. That thing was great unless, as you say, you wanted to get somewhere quick!!!!! We must have "borrowed" the Thin Lizzy tape from Bob because I don't remember either one of us owning that tape. I remember sitting up in your cool attic bedroom listening to "Jail Break" and "The boys are back in town". Don't worry about the spelling of our cats name, that's why I just called him "Ally". I don't remember him not liking Ken, I guess that cat had pretty good instincts after all! I tried to send you a private message, but it didn't work, I guess that feature is temp. off line. TTYL

1977 "Carry on Wayword son" Kansas

Carry on my wayward son,
For there'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Now don't you cry no more

Once I rose above the noise and confusion
Just to get a glimpse beyond the illusion
I was soaring ever higher, but I flew too high
Though my eyes could see I still was a blind man
Though my mind could think I still was a mad man
I hear the voices when I'm dreamin',
I can hear them say

Chorus
Carry on my wayward son,
For there'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Now don't you cry no more

Masquerading as a man with a reason
My charade is the event of the season
And if I claim to be a wise man, it surely
means that I don't know
On a stormy sea of moving emotion
Tossed about I'm like a ship on the ocean
I set a course for winds of fortune, but
I hear the voices say

Carry on, you will always remember
Carry on, nothing equals the splendor
Now your life's no longer empty
Surely heaven waits for you

Chorus

1974 " Season in the Sun" Terry Jacks

Goodbye to you my trusted friend
We've known each other since we were nine or ten
Together we've climbed hills and trees
Learned of love and ABC's
Skinned our hearts and skinned our knees

Goodbye my friend it's hard to die
When all the bird's are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
Pretty girls are everywhere
Think of me and I'll be there

We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climbed
Were just seasons out of time

Goodbye Papa, please pray for me
I was the black sheep of the family
You tried to teach me right from wrong
Too much wine and too much song
Wonder how I got along

Goodbye Papa, it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
Little children everywhere
When you see them I'll be there

We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song
Like the seasons have all gone

We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song
Like the seasons have all gone

Goodbye Michelle, my little one
You gave me love and helped me find the sun
And every time when I was down
You would always come around
And get my feet back on the ground

Goodbye Michelle, it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
With the flowers everywhere
I wish that we could both be there

We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the stars we could reach
Were just starfish on the beach

We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the stars we could reach
Were just starfish on the beach

We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song
Like the seasons have all gone

All our lives we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climbed
Were just seasons out of time

I guess as usual...... I tell too much? Or too little.... Just wanna have fun. Girls just wanna have fun.. who the heck sang that song? Came around way late!
When I was celebrity bartending at MTNI I remember my first broken heart song..........."Blues Eyes Crying in The Rain" I listened to everything that sounded good at the moment.
Anyone on a diet for the reunion? I hear that it is the thing to do? I just love to eat and drink-need the secret quick one before..........?
Can't wait to see everyone.

diet!!!?
two years ago, i started planning the big diet so i would feel better about going to the reunion! alas, you will have to take me fluffy..... life is too short to worry about it. i am so looking forward to seeing everyone and having a great time. for those of you that are traveling, be safe.

O.K. I'll try this. My memory is pretty bad.

It was either our Junior of Senior year. We had a talent show and Jerry was singing "Cheeseburger in Paradise" with Janet Stender and ...(was it Julie Alden?) I tried looking in the yearbook and couldn't remember who else was singing. Jerry, you better help out. I'll pull my hair out until I can figure out who was all on the stage.

Back to the year book. I'm sure no one else has pulled their yearbook out and looked through it. Ah, many memories.

Kim Acker (Lanners)

ok Jerry -

Who was on stage? And, isn't it true that you were with the funky band of many who sang "Jungle Love"? How many talent shows did you partcipate in?

And, dieting, although always on a diet, hasn't worked lately. Too much stress and travel. I agree with Susan. The older we get the more "fluffy" we become. We can all be "fluffy" together.

I just heard "Paradise by the dashboard light". I'm sure this doesn't apply to anyone. I do remember some steamy nights, not telling with who, but you could be surprised, at the wonderful drive-in.

Jerry - didn't I see you at the Torch Light? I think Bobby Rivers let anyone in that had cash......

Oh by the way. It was an old Chevy Impala, white with red interior (the raging boat). I think I was with Pam Proffit.

To all of you who worked so hard to make this reunion such a huge success, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart! You are all amazing and I can't imagine any class having more fun than the class of 78!!!
It was great catching up with some of you and getting to know others really for the first time. What a group!

Until we meet again, may God keep you healthy and happy!

You are all so nice. You showered us(the reunion committee) with compliments all weekend. Your appreciation was so openly shared with us. I would do it again in a heartbeat for people as appreciative as you all. Thank you for all your thank you's. God bless you all. Ch.

Thank you so much 1978 reunion committee and classmates
for an absolutely fun weekend. Ken and I enjoyed seeing everyone and it was great to visit with all of you. The band was wonderful, and I'm so glad we had them play for our Saturday night party. I hope we do have another reunion in five years, we all enjoyed it so much - Becky Higgs

Agree - kudo's to the committee! Enough events to keep everyone busy. Was nice to see a good turnout - didn't get much chance to talk to everyone, but got a hello in to most. Thankfully the weather was not 100+ like most July's tend to be....
Hope to see as good as, or even better, turnout in the future. I do recall someone saying maybe 5 years.... Anyway - good luck, be happy, and rock on!! Thx again committee (toni, jerry, chuck, kathy - and any unknown others - you know who you are).

What a great time and beautiful weather!!! It was perfect!!! Everyone has aged gracefully and with class. We laughed, reminisced and told stories!!! Now as we approach 50 something..... we must consider seeing each other every five years or even every four. Some of us might decide to poop off and we will not get to see those who go on. The rest of us will party on and light a candle for those gone. Keep in Touch and Stay Safe, Healthy and Goofy!!!!!!! Kathy

Thanks to the committee, you all did a wonderful job!!! My husband and I both had such a good time. I saw people that I haven't seen for probably 30 years! Look forward to the next one.

Remember when you were a kid, and you looked forward to Christmas? You'd open your presents, and it was good. But the next day, you felt depressed because it was all over. Well, I'm just now coming out of massive post-reunion depression. It was so fun, coming down to reality has been hard. I had the most fun I've had in a very long time. Now, that could be because it was great. Or it could be that I don't get out too much. In this case, it's both....

Thanks and congratulations to Chuck, Jerry, Toni, and Kathi (and anyone else on the planning committee - you know who you are, and I obviously don't) for their hard work and successful arrangements. Thanks to Merle for his photography - it was a nice touch that exhibited a lot of effort. I cannot think of a single way in which the weekend could have been better. I had high hopes, and they were surpassed in every way.

And thanks to all of the rest of you too. If you had not attended, and had not been so friendly and genuine and funny and interesting, the best laid plans would have been for naught. Sheridan is clearly a special place, for it produced all of you. Take care of yourselves, because I'd really like to see you again

I vote for another get-togther in five years, and I'd be interested in helping to whatever extent I can from a distance.
