Samuel Miller
Sheridan native Samuel Richard "Sam" Miller, 42, of Cheyenne died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, while on a camping and fishing trip near Kaycee. Services will be announced later with arrangements by Adams Funeral Home of Buffalo. Mr. Miller was born May 25, 1960, in Sheridan to C.R. "Sam" and Donna Miller. He grew up in Sheridan and was a 1978 graduate of Sheridan High School. He did seismograph work for Shell Oil throughout the western United States after high school. He married Beth Branney Nov. 25, 1980, in Sheridan. They lived here for a time until the family moved to Michigan, where he worked for Shell Oil in Bay City and Reed City. The family moved in 1991 to Cheyenne, where he was an operator for Frontier Refinery Inc. He was a member of Oil Chemical Atomic Workers Union Local 8-0574. He was an avid fly fisherman. His father died in 1995. Survivors include his wife and three daughters, Amanda, Liza and Morgan, all of Cheyenne; and his mother, a brother, Mike, and three sisters, Cathy Fried, Cheryl Crook and Theresa Rice, all of Sheridan.
